Let me tell you more about this beautiful girl, Bre!

Did you know?
Bre had never modeled before AND she was not one who would describe herself as "comfortable in front of the camera"; but you can NOT tell! We had so much fun as I took her around the capital city of my state! Bre and I met on a cruise back in 2017 :) I am from Alabama, and she lived in Michigan! And even though we met and hung out for a few days back in the summer of '17, we have physically hung out for so many days in Alabama and even traveled to the beach together in Florida. Some people you just instantly connect with and make a bond for life, and this girl is one of those beautiful souls I get to proudly say connected with mine instantly. She is so smart and caring and cool.

Tip:
If you are working with someone who is not feeling comfortable in front of the camera, have them say "a" "e" "i" "o" "u" a few times. This trick gets them giving you great faces, and eventually, you both let the walls down and it leads to a more relaxed session!
Here are more tips for helping your client to be relaxed:
Give your client time to relax. The session should not be full of camera clicks. Be sure you set realistic time opportunities with the number of images you are promising to return to the client (for Example, you would not promise 30 images for a 30-minute session). Start the session with an introduction and let your clients know what they can expect for the time they have purchased.
Explain how the session is going to work and let them know you welcome any ideas they have as well. Talk with them about what they want. Try to get as many specific details as possible, while also relaying to the client that no specific image is promised. Sometimes you even have to explain that this session is only for X amount of time, so during that time, they need to be conscious of their smile, body parts, etc in order for the images to come back worth it for the time and money spent.
My favorite thing to help with poses is for me to explain at the beginning "if I say HOLD, that means you need to try to hold that position you are currently in and smile and I will direct further". Clients start listening for me to say "HOLD" which gets the authentic poses rolling. When they are not looking for you to put their hands in certain positions, the more natural the session becomes and you both feel relaxed and having fun!
Let them know you are not taking yourself too seriously and you do not expect them to, either! We are all human and the human moments are always so beautiful.
