Whoa, it’s been a busy summer. Without going into too much information, it’s been an amazing yet whirlwind of a year so far. I had set a lot of goals for myself at the beginning of the year, which is typical because of the whole “new year, let’s resolution-ize!” thing; but due to some sicknesses, vacations, and family additions, I ended up having to pump the breaks a bit and re-evaluate what all I really (and realistically) wanted to accomplish this year. I’m also enjoying finally not having too much on my plate, and I’m trying to enjoy relaxing by spending quality time with loved ones, or just being alone with myself whenever I do not have plans. Now that Summer is winding down, I am glad to be able to start back blogging and sharing more details about some of the work I’ve been able to create.
A random but most likely known fact is that my favorite superhero is Wonder Woman. She is probably my favorite fictional character of all time, even though it’s always hard for me to claim what exactly is my FAVORITE above the rest because I change my mind a lot, but I digress. There are many reasons to love Wonder Woman. From the beginning, she knows she has important work to do and she doesn’t let anyone get in the way. She’s been an advocate for civil rights from the get-go. Her caring nature is her strength, not her weakness. She’s a pacifist at heart, but she isn’t a doormat. Intolerance, prejudice, and persecution will not be tolerated. She’s always been anti-war but, even though she doesn’t enjoy doing it, she will kill when necessary. Even though she is extremely tough and refuses to conform to societal expectations to spare men’s delicate masculinity, that doesn’t mean she rejects all things traditionally feminine, like loving fashion. I also love her because she is the one doing the rescuing of her romantic interest instead of needing a man to save her. She even found herself a boyfriend who is in no way intimidated by her confidence and strength, but rather thinks it’s sexy. Wonder Woman has always been an advocate of women finding their inner strength and she will not stand for the “men are stronger than women” nonsense. Her comics have always been adamant about how women are stronger than they realize. She is stronger and tougher than both Batman and Superman, and she is faster too. Her sarcasm is always on point and she is hilariously unaware of how strong she is. If you’ve read any one of her comics, you will understand all of this about Wonder Woman.
My best friend Jennifer reminds me of Wonder Woman every single day. From the day I met her, she has always been a positive light in my life and someone I can lean on. As a mom of three and a loving wife, she is definitely someone I look up to. This past year, Jennifer has been nothing short of a wonder woman. Her oldest daughter was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes (T1D). Not many people realize the daily struggles that T1D brings to someone suffering as well as their families. Jennifer has faced this disease head-on and has been so strong. I will never be able to put into words just how inspiring Jennifer has been after this diagnosis came from out of the blue and turned her world upside down. Her faith in God has also been outstanding. I love having her to talk with daily, even if it’s just us sending each other songs and a “good vibes!” in the morning.
Jennifer’s birthday is in January, and I wanted to celebrate her with her own photo-shoot! I drove to her home in Dothan, Alabama and we had such a fun day listening to Christian tunes and adventuring around, capturing her beauty and having a great “best friend” day. This bombshell is in her 30s and she is an all-natural beauty. I hope you enjoy these pictures. I am definitely looking forward to the next time I am able to get her in front of my camera!

Let me know if you would like to set-up a photo-shoot for yourself! I would love to capture who you are and where you are at now. One thing I've discovered during my short time here on Earth is that life definitely is always changing! It's fun to capture moments and look back on them years later!!
